I know this is a very simple question, but I cannot seem to remedy it. I am trying to do a simple mask to remove an object, but nothing works on the picture. I tried cloning and that doesn’t work. It’s as if there is a piece of glass over the photo, but it is the original layer. I did this all day yesterday, but now suddenly it won’t work. What am I doing wrong?

Hard to say. What format is the image in? What is the image mode (color and number of bits)? Cloning and a mask are different steps … is that what you mean?

It is a jpg. I understand that cloning and masking are different things. What I mean is that I can’t do anything at all to change the image. No clone, no mask, no paint, – nothing ON the image. This happens periodically and I’m not sure why. Usually I can go out – sometimes have to reboot – and come back and it works fine. No idea what’s going on. Is it a PC thing or a PSCS2 thing?
