Can’t close CS3 because of activation

I recently installed CS3 on a clean installation of Vista Business. The first time I tried to run CS3, it took nearly 45 minutes for the activation screen to appear (of course it took me several days to learn to wait for 45 minutes to launch the application). The application could never activate via internet, but eventually I got phone activation to work. Now I can open CS3 fine, but I cannot close it (usually). I have learned that I cannot close CS3 while the Registration/Activate/Deactivate/Update options under the Help menu are inactive. Sometime they become active on my machine within an hour and sometime they never become active. I submitted a Web Case support item to Adobe with no response for 2 days now. I called Customer service, but they informed me I must call technical support (which is only open during normal business hours when I am at work).

Has anyone else had/resolved this problem? I do have a RAID 0 array which has been reported to cause activation problems in the past. I have all User Account Control stuff in Vista turned off. No other software is installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
