I am very interested in purchasing one of the adobe products that will help me in changeing the back grounds of my pictures. I am new to Photoshop and I am basically looking for a program that I can take my subject off of a solid back ground and put my subject on the beach or in front of a sunset etc….from one of my other photo’s… I am looking for the best product out there. If you can shed some advice my way it would be much appreciated….thx

Hi Penny,
You can make the trick with Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP, and some other programs. However, Photoshop is certainly the best one.

Photoshop is certainly the best one.

…. and the most expensive, hard to learn, and currently unreliable.

If you went for Photoshop Elements, you could always move up to the full Photoshop later if you needed to.

The tool for the job you want is Knockout2 [plugin/filters] it will extract your background or any other part of your pic and let you insert new BG or vreat a new BG and insert your subject.
