I have Photoshop CS. I create a web gallery. I compressed (zipped) the folder with the web gallery files. I e-mail the folder through Hotmail. The problem is that the recepient can not view the gallery once they click on the "index" file in the compressed folder. Why is this? Can anyone help? How can I get someone to view my web gallery on their computer? Thanks

Hi gina,
Hyperlinks won’t work within archive file. Ask the recipient to unzip the contents to a separate folder first.

Thanks. However, do you know of any other easier way I can e-mail someone my photos/gallery? It seems as though it would be too much work/effort to ask for from the recepient to open the files. I would like it to be as easy as possible. Especially if the recepient doesn’t know how to extract files.

Here’s a really dumb idea…

If you create a web gallery from Photoshop, post it on the web, then email a link to your recipient.

That would obviously be a good idea. However, I don’t have a site.

Haven’t you got any freespace with your ISP account?

Windows will extract zip files in Explorer without the Winzip program.

Just tell the recipient to right-click on the zip file. That’s not exactly rocket science.

Or be a devil and get some web space.

Or put the pictures up in Flickr or some such image hosting service.

The possibilities are endless.

or sites like yahoo/geocities angelfire and tripod offer ad suppored hosting for free.

Or be a devil and get some web space.

couple dollars/month (i pay 7 ) will get you gigs and gigs of storage and bandwidth and includes tools to help with sites and small businesses.
