Just installed CS3, and when trying to do batch operations, and checking "Suppress File Open Options Dialog," the file open dialogs still pop up. Any ideas why it doesn’t work? Is there some preference setting which would cause this?

Thanks.

Don’t know, but try unchecking the open step in the Action.

Thanks, but that doesn’t help. I want the action to open the images for batch processing.

I just realized that the actions were from PS CS. Would that make a difference?

Batch processing opens the images automatically. No Open step required. I almost never include an Open step when I make an action because it can cause problems.

Ok, thanks. I didn’t know that. I’ll try it.

Well, that didn’t work. I deleted the action and recorded the same steps in CS3 in a new action with the same name. It works like gangbusters. So, obviously, the action created in a previous version of PS, (namely CS), is not compatible with CS3.

Now, does anyone know of a utility that will convert all my actions to be compatible with CS3, or must I re-record them all?

Thanks.

I have not heard that Actions created in CS don’t work in CS 3. Have you tried any others?

You could have tried deleting the step first…

Dennis,

All my actions do work in CS3…
