HElP, I am going nuts. I use a Windows XP SP2, uptodate in patches in a Dell Precision 470 with 3 Gigs of RAM, and Photoshop CS2 v9.
I am using it to save historical pix taken in the 20s, 30s and 40s. These pix are really small, 1.5" x 1.5", and so I scan them with an Epson V700 to 1200 dpi.
Over a hundred of these pix were saved without a problem. Then suddenly the message at the subject header started popping up and I have not been able to save any more pix.
I have already increased the size of the virtual memory. Renamed the pref file as to have a new one recreated. Defragmented my drive. Cleaned up the registry. Prayed 🙂 but no help yet.
So, if anybody knows the answer PLEASE….
Thanks for all your help.

If you don’t have psicon.dll, have you installed the MS RAW file viewer, which has the same problem due to an OS bug? Have you set Windows Explorer to cache images? Do you have XP’s indexer or Google Desktop cataloging your disk? Any of these could potentially cause a problem, by having another program not under your direct control accessing images when you are trying to save them. At my office, where I have Google Desktop indexing stuff, sometimes Outlook can’t open an archived .PST file; shut down Google Desktop, restart Outlook, and it opens.
