canon pixma pro 9000?

I have had bad luck with epsons mechanically breaking down (I will never buy another epson) and am thinking of getting this canon. Anyone have any experience with it? I’m looking for something that will do 8.5×11 and 11×17 photo gloss good quality.

No experience of the 9000, but I’ve got a 4000 and that is an excellent little printer. I used to be an Epson fan too, but have been very impressed by the Pixma.

Is that the Canon Pixma ip8500? If so, where did you buy it? That model seems to have been discontinued.
