ok well I emptied the temp folder, and now it works! I’m not sure if emptying it helped (there was only file in there and it didn’t seem to have anything to do with Adobe) or if it was one of those problems that somehow fixes it itself over time.

thanks so much you guys =D

I love you, Adobe.

You’re fighting a losing battle by merely cleaning things out. They’ll just fill up again.

Buy an additional hard disk.

alright, well i have the same problem again, and this time emptying out the temp file didn’t work. so…

Are you using more than one hard disk?
– no
Your scratch disk may be on a different drive. Can you give some information about what version of windows you use;
– windows xp pro
how big your drives are and how much space is on them.
– C drive is 4.00GB (98.8MB free); D drive (where adobe is) is 34.1GB (30.9 free) Also how much memory you have can affect how much hard disk space you need. -512 megs

Empty out C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\temp – it didn’t have a local settings folder

Buy an additional hard disk.
– i wouldn’t mind doing that. but i have neither the $$ nor the expertise for that =\

your further help is greatly appreciated =)

Uh, okay, from that I deduce that you have your C drive partitioned – probably done by a friend or rellie right?

Without getting into the details of the C drive, here’s what you need to check.

Open Photoshop and go to Edit|Preferences|Plug Ins and Scratch Disks. Make sure that it reads D:

If you really have 30 megs available, that will eliminate the scratch disk issue.

Cayla,

You really need a LOT more free space on your C: Drive…..98 meg is NOTHING! You should never let any drive get to have less than 15% free. You can’t even de-fragment a drive with less free space than that. Ideally, with XP you would have 1gig free on your C: drive.

– yeah, i did.

Open Photoshop and go to Edit|Preferences|Plug Ins and Scratch Disks. Make sure that it reads D: – the problem is that i can’t even open photoshop

Then follow Len’s advice. You have far too little room on drive C. Dangerously too little. Remove some programs.

aaah oops sorry bout posting that again, didn’t realize hitting refresh would do that.

anyway, so you think it would work if i had more room on my C drive?

In all probability, it would, Cayla. It is VERY doubtful you will get it to without freeing up at least another 200 megs on C:

I would get your C: drive partition up to 10 GB in your situation.
