I have created an action that resizes the image to 300 px wide, applies and smart sharpen and then uses save for web. I set up save for web as I liked and clicked done because I don’t want the save path to be recored into the action.

When I run the batch I need to have override save as commands checked or photoshop keeps asking me for the jpeg settings in the save as jpeg dialogue box. I have specified a different folder for the new images to be saved in. The process runs with each image opening, being resized etc. and closing but there are no files in the specified directory.

I know there has been allot of postings about batching but I couldn’t find anything that applied to my problem.

Please help!

Hi hirez,
By selecting ‘Override "Save As"’ option you disable "batch-saving" – that is the edited image supposed to be saved by the played action.
However, it looks like in your action there is no saving command at all (clicking "Done" in the Save for Web dialog just "remembers" the optimization settings without actually saving images).

IMO, the easiest solution is including the destination path into the action (by clicking "Save" in the "Save for Web" dialog) and disabling "Override" gadget.
