I have an old photo which I want to restore. However the original print has some orange spots showing on the skin areas – see

How can I get rid of these using photoshop? I could use the clone/healing brush but there is a lot of area to cover and would take several hours. Is there a way to adjust without having to use the clone/healing tools?

The use of the clone tool would be made more difficult due to the presence of the half tone pattern.

You could try using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer with Yellows targeted. This might work as the skin colour is more red/magenta. For that reason too, you might get a better result by adding yet another Hue/Sat layer and desaturating completely to produce a monochrome image.

How about this:

Used only Image > Adjustments > Selective Color, in two passes.

In Pass 1, I played around a bit to reduce the overall reddish/magenta cast, then made the spots a bit more distinctive yellowish color.

In Pass 2, I targeted yellows, moved the slider all the way to the left, then did a few adjustments to saturation and blackness of the yellows.

3 passes doing the same as Michael did, plus a little visit to hue/saturation.

Is the pattern paper texture rather than Moiré?

Yep, it’s a textured surface by the looks of it- sometimes known as velvet stipple (different names for different markets).
