I use LR to do a lot of editing, but have to do the serious editing in CS2.When trying to Save or SaveAs, the tif files won’t save. LR says to "Be sure to use the Maximize Compatibility Option" but the only thing i can find is under Preferences,File Handling,"Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility", which nothing to do with tif’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Phil

Excuse me for making myself unclear, but the window in LR says"When saving from Photoshop, please be sure to use the "Maximize Compatibility" option in Photoshop" That is why i thought it would be a Photoshop option.

Check the file handling preferences.

It is, and your question does belong here.

As was pointed out you have to set it in Preferences -> File Handling. You find a drop-down with Always, Never and Ask; choose Always.

There have been tips to not use it but you lose compatibility to all non-Adobe programs and, as you found out, even with Adobe’s own. When maximising compatibility you essentially put a flattened image (a "preview" so to speak) into your PSD/PSB.
