Brand new to Illustrator… longtime Photoshop veteran.

Loaded an existing .AI file, which is a dieline of a product package. However, all it shows is the outlines of various placed images. Not the images themselves.

Is there a toggle for this? Can I display all the images that are being linked to (that came with the .AI file)?

Even placing a new image of my own will only create a new outline in the shape of my image — but I still can’t see the image.

Surely there’s a toggle?

View/Preview vs. View/Outline — hopefully it’s as simple as that. —

If not, the images probably aren’t linked. Tey moving them into a different directory and reloading the file to make sure what you have is actually what it needs.
