Is it OK to uninstall CS2 now that I have installed CS3?

If so, can I just use Add/Remove?

Any other advice?

Many thanks.

Most people would advise you to leave CS2 installed – at least until the major bugs are ironed out of CS3.

And if you use ImageReady you’ll need CS2!

If you do a lot of printing from Ps, particularly if you have more than one printer installed, keep CS2 installed. You’ll most probably end up using it for printing if nothing else.

See the threads on this forum concerning CS3 printing for further info.

Do you think at this point it is safe to uninstall CS2? I’m using an older computer for backup and the hard drive doesn’t have a whole lot of space, so I am looking to free up things I don’t need. Printing is not an issue for me.

also if you need image ready or adobe gamma don’t remove cs2. if you don’t need those things, you can run add/remove programs from the control panel to remove cs2, make sure you select "NO" when it asks if you want to remove "shared files".

If you have that little space empty on your drive removing CS2 is the least of your worries.Any drive that is 85% full or more is a disaster waiting to happen.

What Buko said.

Plus: Any drive more than 60% full – and fragmented – will slow your computer down.

HD space is cheaper now than it’s ever been. Give yours a new brother or sister. 😉

Thanks for your comments – I’m well aware of the dangers of a full hard drive. This is about 45%full and I’m looking to clean up things as it sits there in case the one I normally use is down (like the time a puppy chewed through all the power cords). I’ve never stored data on a hard drive, don’t do betas and have never had one of the 10 computers I’ve owned in my lifetime crash.

You mentioned Image Ready – anybody found CS3’s answer to that good to use?

"I’ve never stored data on a hard drive". Where do you store it? "never had one of the 10 computers I’ve owned in my lifetime crash." You have been very, very, very, very, very, very lucky.
