I had a problem setting CS3 as the default editor for .jpg or any other file type. Everytime a chose CS3 which is simply named "photoshop.exe" the system chose CS2 which had been my previous default editor. I changed CS3’s name to "photoshop CS3.exe" and it works. Will I run into any problems with this setup. I really want to keep my CS2 as a backup.

you might. i’d fix it and redo your associations, either in bridge or windows explorer.
