I have also the problem, getting a flashing cursor. I then can’t do anything then save, restart machine and hope it works again. Sometime it does, sometime it doesn’t and I keep trying or use CS2 again instead which is not really cool, as CS3 files with used things won’t work in cs2 anymore… I’m also using two monitors, a ATI X850 Pro graphic card, XP Prof. SP2, 2 GB RAM, AMD 4200 X2 Dual Prozessor. Any ideas cause I didn’t find anything on the internet to solve this issue.

Thx in advance

The following worked for me –
Refer to Step 4 in the following document to assist in resetting the preferences for Photoshop:
Troubleshoot system errors or freezes in Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP < http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=kb40 0919>

I also installed the CS3 updates. All is well!
Thanks for the help!

Just installed CS3 and to my dismay, Bridge wouldn’t refresh. I typed "bridge cs3 refresh" into google and this page was the first to show up. Sure enough, it was my dual monitor setup that was the culprit. "Use Software Rendering" saved the day! Thanks for paving the way by posting the problem and the fix!

There’s an update to Bridge which you should certainly download and install.
