Hi Bob

I know, however, the artwork has to always be amended and this is the only way that is possible, does anybody know what the problem is, is it a software problem???

Does the same thing happen when you place as a smart object?

Not sure how to do that, however, I opened the PDF as a smart object via PS CS3 and cut and pasted it into my template without any problems (is that what you meant?).

Any ideas why I now have to do it that way??

Many thanks

Then use the touch up object tool in Acrobat.

Illustrator can also edit PDFs…

Illustrator is NOT a general purpose PDF editor. While it can handle some PDFs not everything is going to translate properly.

The fact is, PDF is not really intended to be edited at all, though Acrobat can handle some small edits and with third party plugins that capability can be extended.

But the best course of action is to get the orignal document, edit that and then create a new PDF.

But it’s still better than rasterizing everything in PS

I agree wholeheartedly with that

Sometimes, yes…sometimes, no.

I’m actually hoping you can help me. I’m a novice on CS2. I opened a pdf in illustrator to make a small change and "save" so the the entire PDF (not one page) was saved. The PDF file
tripled in size. I’ve spent hours trying to figure out how to save the file size or reduce it so I can email.
