Well I recently purchased Photoshop 5.0, assuming that I could upgrade to CS2. Well to my surprise I needed version 5.5. Is there anyway of getting a free upgrade, or will I have to just buy a 5.5 upgrade? Thanks in advance

PS 5.0 hasn’t been sold in many years. If you bought a used copy, then you’ll need to get the seller to fill out the license transfer paperwork.

Also note that CS2 is no longer sold and you can’t upgrade to CS3 from anything earlier than 7.0.

Version 5.0 was released nearly 10 years ago, so if you just bought it, I guess you must have gotten it used.

But you can upgrade from 5.0 if the previous owner has filed a transfer of license with Adobe. This would transfer the license to you, and you could then contact Adobe customer service to upgrade.
