Web Photo Gallery fails

I have CS2 on a desktop box and on a laptop. I had the CS3 beta on both, but have since removed it. It appears that I’ve managed to clobber something because it seems (anecdotal, but it seems) that since removing CS3, none of the Photoshop tools from Bridge work. And the Automate/Web Photo Gallery (which is the only one I’ve tried so far) from CS2 also doesn’t work.

From Bridge I can select Web Photo Gallery and nothing happens. No popup, no into CS2, no nothing.

From CS2, trying a Web Photo Gallery I can select everything and hit OK, followed by the message "Could not complete the Web Photo Gallery command because the file could not be found."…..

I presume I’ve clobbered something and things are still pointing to CS3? Or I’ve just clobbered something and things aren’t pointing anywhere…

Can someone tell me how to get this stuff working without having to do a full install again?

Try a "Repair" I think you can do it from Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

Ah, I forgot… I’ve already tried repair on both machines. It doesn’t make any difference… Whatever I did, I did it really well!

OK, to make things even more confusing…. I decided the "solution" was to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop. So, I did, told it to keep my preferences and such, and reinstalled. Had it go through the updates and I’m now at 1.0.4.6 of Bridge and 9.0.2 of Photoshop.

Which you’d think would fix the problem… Nah. NOW I can start Bridge and select one or more RAW files then do a Photoshop/Web Photo Gallery and it’ll work ONCE. It start Photoshop and runs the gallery. It doesn’t matter whether I cancel it or let it run, if I go back to Bridge and select images again, NOTHING happens. No activity, not starting the gallery in Photoshop, it just sits there. If I shut down Bridge and restart it, I can do the Web Photo Gallery again. ONCE…..

BTW: Its not just Web Photo Gallery – NONE of the stuff in the Tools/Photoshop menu work…..

Another oddity… After the install this morning, my context menu in Bridge is different. At the top of the menu instead of saying "Open", "Open With", then "Open in Camera Raw" there are several new items ABOVE these. They say "Get Price and keywords…", "License Agreement…", then a separator and another line that says "License Agreement…", "Download Comp", and "Add to Cart". NONE of these new items does anything when I select them, and I’ve never seen them before this morning…

None of this has ever happened before, and I’m at a loss as to what I’ve broken… I suppose my next move is to uninstall CS2 and NOT have it save any of its info…

Well, the nuclear option seems to have resolved the issue… I removed CS2, and went through the disk removing all traces in the settings and installation directories….. Things now appear to be working as before the oddness happened, but I’ve also got to redo all my setup stuff… Yeesh…..
