a tiny bit of background… I render plans taken from autocadd in photoshop. basically I’m the guy who makes boring black and white line drawings and colors them up to look pretty. no matter what, the plans I render have to be scale. that’s a must.
the process in the past was to generate a pdf in autocadd (2005) using acrobat 7. take that pdf and rastorize them by opening them up in photoshop CS2. when I rastorized them I would tell the pdf the dpi, but leave the sheet at arch d, 24" x 36". that process worked fine until I got CS3.
the process now is to generate an autocadd (2005) pdf with acrobat 8 and open it in photoshop CS3. when I open the arch d, 24" x 36" drawing, photoshop cs3 will resize the image no matter how I open it or what resolution I assign it. even if I open it as a smart object it will still give it a new size, usually smaller than the arch d sheet I made it at. that changes the scale pf the drawing which is not acceptable.
if I look at the pdf, its fine and to scale. its only when I rastorize it does it change scale. ive had to turn to this forum because my co-workers have now run into the same problem as I and no one can figure it out.
is there a way to fix this scaling problem?
