Adobe Photoshop CS2

Hi.
I have been using CS2 and I need some help? I have been trying to save my folder of pictures to a CD and can’t figure it out. I also can’t assistance on the help menu.

So, my questions are:
1)
How can I save a folder of my pictures to a CD?
How can I find out how large a folder is in terms of capacity (space used up)? How can I find out how much capacity is in a CD?
How will I know if and when the CD is filled up and complete, or if I will need an additional CD? What is the best CD to use?
Do CDs vary by the amount of storage space?
Is a CD the right storage device or should I use a DVD?
If a DVD is the way to go, what type of DVD should I use?

2)
If CS2 can’t copy a file to a CD, can I copy a file by using my Windows XP operating system? If so how?

Thanks

QUESTION 1
FOR PC. I think you have to format the cd first. Once formatted.. you can use the drive as a normal drive.. just copy and paste on to the cd drive.

In the files and folders explorer you can right click on the folder and select properties to see number of files and total folder size before you copy them to the CD (assume a 700mb CD-r actually holds maybe 680mb because the directory and format uses some of the space)

Once the cd-r is formatted.. you right click on the drive name and view properties to find out how much space is available.

You should only copy to the cd-r the number and total file size that will fit on your available CD-r. You WILL get a write error when you exceed the cd-r limit. THEN you will have to go figure out what files actually transfered and those that didn’t copy.

CD’s vary in capacity. Usually capacity is written on the CD-R face or on the manufacturers label.

CD-r or DVD? hmm depends on your existing DRIVE hardware abilities. Some drives read/write both DVD and CD-R

DVD come in several flavors. DVD-r DVD+R DVD-RW. Which one you choose depends on what your computers disk [dvd or CD-r only] drive capabilities.

QUESTION 2
CS2 can copy files to a CD… CD just needs to be formated first.

Are you sure you only had 2 questions??

One last comment. Once you have formatted your CD and then moved you pictures to that CD… you must close or EJECT the CD.. meaning it will finalize the CD so that it can be read on other computers cd disk drives.

If you have formatted a CD- Read/ WRITE cd.. you don’t have to close it… because the CD-RW or DVD-RW acts like a regular hard drive (albeit smaller). You can read from it and write to it over and over again.

Now I know that you only had 2 questions.

In Windows Explorer, press the F1 key and search for ‘CD burning’. All will be answered.

FOR PC. I think you have to format the cd first.

This is only necessary if you use CD-RW or DVD-RW.
