HI I recently bought Dell Monitor 1907FP and when running with other monitors (samsung) everything is fine, when running Dell monitor only I constantly get error message " lcd color management and conversion appears to be defective, Please rerun your monitor calibration software"

Should I use some calibration software or how to get rid of this problem?

Am using prec 380, vista ultimate and SC3 Photoshop

Thanks

Well, if I saw this message on my machine, I would get that correct software and use it to create a profile.

Yes.

lcd color management and conversion appears to be defective

All but the high end "professional" LCD monitors are pretty well impossible to calibrate accurately. Forget Adobe Gamma (which came with CS and CS2) you really need a "Spyder" type hardware calibration kit to get anywhere near correct calibration. You should be able to get a "workable" result but don’t expect to be able to accurately predict/match the gamma of your prints.

vista ultimate and SC3 Photoshop

B SC3
? When did they bring that one out 🙂

Dell 1907FP Dual Display, Vista Business, CS3

Corrupt profile error message when opening Ps.

Basically the profiles I installed from Dell where there issue and you need to recreate new default profiles for the monitors. You can use any calibration software to do this, Adobe Gamma being one of them.

If you have CS2 accessible do the following, else get a calibration software.
1) Copy the Gamma application from your CS2 install to your vista machine (Program Files >Common Files)

This will include the gamma exe and the control panel app CPL file.
2) Run the CPL to open the wizard
3) After the calibration wizard runs save the profile under a new name
4) Go to your montitor display options (Desktop>Personalize>Display
Settings>Advanced Settings>Color Management)
5) Under devices remove the corrupt profile assigned and add the new one just created.
6) Run Photoshop and error should be gone.
