Thomas,
I have that too. On different computers.
A very wild guess is that they may be some sort of font that we must have in order to display them properly.
I don’t worry about it. It’s a one-time choise.

Funny…I had yet to notice that but see the same thing as well, with PS CS3 under Windows Vista. Perhaps it is, but I wouldn’t expect it to be a font issue as using fonts in those thumbnail size icons would be a boring alternative to what PS CS2 under Vista shows as 4 wizards sitting on an artist palette.

Daryl,
I had those wizzards too in previous Ps. But I find the empty spaces in the new Ps CS3 less boring than those wizzards.
The mind fills it in.
When I was a kid, I found a little wooden box (the size of a computer mouse) that was locked. Of course I hadn’t a key.
There was something in it, and for almost two years I imagined what that could be.
It could be anything, until an uncle forced it open to reveal it’s content.
There ended two perfect fantasy years, bringing everything back to boring reality.
It contained a key, that didn’t even fit this box.
Of course, dear forum, I’m very normal nowadays <frantically burning documents>
Rob
So, Rob, are you still looking for the lock the key fits? 🙂
Well, they are Wizards after all, so perhaps they just pull a disappearing act from time to time and magically reappear in another PS installation when you’ve got 2 or more installed.
Funny, John Joslin has the opposite! I tell ya, with CS4 only some of us can see their monitor!
BTW, I sort of expected to suddenly see the wizards if I would make a screenshot myself, but that wasn’t the case.
Mark my words, randomly disappearing wizards in a palette options panel is a communist con trick!
