I raised this some days ago and got a sparse response so I’m trying it again just in case someone with an answer missed it first time round.

Basically, Painter 10, Digital Image Pro 10 and Windows Explorer all open jpegs and tifs instantly. CS3 opens all files – jpegs, tif, psd etc – in 10-20 seconds. Both at the start of a session and during it. CS3 itself opens very quickly – no complaints there.

Grateful for any ideas as to what I can do about this. I think a few people are experiencing this problem.

Thanks

David

There’s a solution and it is related to printers.

I have no network printer but have just found that if I change my default local printer to one of the virtual printer services (Microsoft XPS Document Writer or MS Office Document Image Writer) I have in addition to my two usb printers, the CS3 image opening delay disappears. I have no idea why, but there it is. When I want to print I’ll just have to remember to change the printer. But good news.
