A one-color logo will be screen printed onto a garment. Since the garment has to meet certain requirements for the amount of fabric still visible, we need to know how much of the fabric will be covered up by the ink.

Is there a way, using Photoshop, to calculate the surface area of the color in the logo?

Make a selection of the logo (there’s several ways to do that), check the number of pixels in the Histogram palette, and divide by the resolution squared.

John, thanks for responding.
Will the result be square pixels, then? And, will it need to be converted to inches if that is the result I want?

Thanks

No, the result will be in square inches or square centimeters (depending on if ppi or ppcm are used for the resolution)
