ok, it is the ‘open type’ fonts that do not show up in photoshop 7 but do show up in ms word. they are all correctly installed in windows font folder (control panel – xp).
¿any reason why? ¿better yet, how to get them functional in photoshop? thanks.

all right, some open types show up/some don’t in photoshop 7 but all true type fonts in windows font folder do show up in photoshop 7.
¿so what is the deal with the open type?
thanks.

Open type works fine in Photoshop. Is it possible that you have some damaged fonts? Photoshop is much more picky about accepting correct fonts than Word or other programs. Monotype Corsiva is not likely to be a bad font, but if there is another bad font (generally one that was picked up free from the web) in your listing, then it can mess up all the others.

If all your fonts are reputable ones from Adobe, Microsoft, and/or Monotype, then this would not be the problem.

hmmmm – i have read some of what you say on the net in doing research on this. like everyone, i do have imported fonts. it seems i would need to uninstall fonts that are not part of the original msword, i.e. rebuild to the original font set of msword (windows font folder).

is the best way – move the imports out of the windows font folder and by default on restart of adobe those import fonts will not appear – correct?

and if those fonts currently missing then appear in adobe, then proceed, as a point of academics, add the imports back as i want them and see which, if any, cause others to drop out from adobe font list – correct?

thank you.
