In Photoshop CS3 Extended, I want to use the Animation window. The video tutorials on < http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0027> show the animation layer to have a timeline. When I put a simple JPEG into the animation window I just get a thumbnail and no timeline!

Can someone tell me how to change the Animation window so I can get a timeline to add filters that chnage over time.

Thanks

Kevin

Kevin,

At the bottom right of the Animation palette you’ll see an icon that looks like a small filmstrip. Click that to toggle between frame view and timeline view.

I don’t have that icon in the bottom right of my palete only the resize the window icon. There is a series of dots icon (just after the play button) on the left side but that is ghosted out!

The series of dots you see is for tweening frames, so unless you have two or more frames available to work with, you cannont tween and thus those dots would be grayed out. As for not seeing the icon at the bottom right, I’ve no idea why you’d not see it. You should see something like this: <http://ambress.com/photoshop/images/anim_palette_toggle.gif>

Note that the toggle between Timeline and Frame view is unique to PS CS3 Extended. If you have CS3 Standard, you’ll not have the Timeline.
