Hi!!

Can anyone tell me how to create those borders as used at www.poms-engineering.at (I found them via google search and used them for my site). The straight parts I believe can be created with the gradient tools, but what about the corners? Can anyone help me?

Those are individual image slices put back together on the web page to look like one. If you right click the various portions of the page using Firefox you’ll get a menu and one choice is to view image.

That should give you a bit of guide to how this was done.

Pretty simple even for a print guy like me. <g>

Well, but as an absolute untalented newbie I didn’t get my border (corners) like this in Photoshop and I don’t even have an idea how to do so…

Part of the problem seems to be that you think Photoshop is a tool for creating web pages, and it is not. You use Photoshop to create graphics that appear on a web page, but you will need to use a web page application, or learn HTML, if you want to be able to emulate a professional web site.

No, you misunderstood me.

I’m designing websites with PHP/HTML and a text editor but need to create pictures, in my case this border, to be used on the website.

I am not at all sure what you’re talking about. I don’t see borders on that site. Can you provide a screenshot pointing out what you are referring to?

The "corner" is simply one small jpeg placed in between the two "tiled" Jpegs making up the line. All would be fairly simple to recreate in Photoshop.

What part are you having difficulty with?

I think you would make the ENTIRE border in photoshop, then slice it, then export the slices. that corner jpg chris posted is just one small slice of the larger.
