How do you change the black background in fullscreen mode for CS3?

When I maximize a graphic in CS3, the default background is black (previous versions used to be grey).

I can’t for the life of me figure out where to change this. I have several graphics that have black borders and it makes it incredibly difficult to see where the graphic starts.

Set your foreground color to a neutral gray and then shift click the black background that you want to change with the paintbucket tool.

You can, of course, cycle through the screen modes using the F key.

In Photoshop CS3 there are four modes: Windowed, Maximized, Full Screen, and Full Screen with no menus. The good news is, following Bob’s advice, you can set a different background to each window.
