I need to use some images that have a transparent background on our website. Originally I was given 24 bit png images – which do not show up correctly in IE6. So I converted them to 8 bit. Now the images have a severe case of the jaggies. Anyone know why this is happening, or what I can do to fix it?

That was not the best approach. I would use the original 24 bit pngs and add the javascript to the HTML file that forces IE 6 to display the png transparency.

How do they look if you save them as Gifs?

(Go back to the originals, of course, not the jaggified versions)
