I’ve created a wallpaper of resolution about 7000X6000 pixels meaning dimension 1,6m width and 1m length.

As i have a A4 printer how can i divide hte image into parts of A4 size to print it in parts and then unite them toghether?

Can it be done automaticaly by a speci9fic programm? Can Photoshop CS2 do that?

If not and i have to do it manually whats the resolution in poixels of an A4 paper?

Thank you

George,

There’s no tiling option when printing from Photoshop, but there is in both Illustrator and InDesign if you have either of those applications.

whats the resolution in pixels of an A4 paper?

That will depend entirely on what the resolution of the image is, in pixels per inch or centimeter.

I believe Qimage can do this automatically.

So what would be the proper resolution?

By the figures you gave, your 1.6 x 1 metre file is a little over 150 ppi. It’s a long time since I was in school. You’re 17 – you do the math! 😉

From the dimensions you have given, each 210mm x 297mm slice would be 1272 px x 1799 px – but can you print a full A4 without borders?

Thats a problem. Doesn’t Ilustrator has an option to print A4 without borders as long as it has option to divide in A4?

Best bet would to rely on your printer driver, which may provide a "tiled" or "poster" printing option.

Illustrator gets it’s tile size from the printer driver. If the printer supports borderless A4, then by setting the printer to that option will result in an A4 tile

If you print borderless, be aware that most printer drivers in borderless mode will actually enlarge your image just slightly larger than you intended to bleed over the edge, so there are no white borders due to paper misalignment.
