I’ve got two wedding photos. One is of the entire wedding party (wp), including the bride and groom, which is preserved nicely. The other is just the bride and groom (bg), and it’s faded badly. It’s almost grayscale, with a light blue hue.

I want to restore the bg photo. My main concern is always faces, so I’d like to borrow the preserved skin tones from the wp photo and transfer to the bg photo. The poses and perspectives [of the heads/faces in the two photos] is *almost* similar enough simply to copy/paste the heads – but not similar enough. The head tilt differs, and it looks like the photographer was in a little closer on the bg photo, which creates a slightly different angle.

Therefore, I need a way to merge the perspective of the bg photo with the color tone of the wp photo.

Have a given enough information to get some feedback on ways to accomplish this?

thank you,

You could try sampling the shin tone that you like with the eyedropper tool, then paint in color mode on the faded photo. Any way you can post a sample or link so we can see it?
