Hi
I would like to change the default stroke colour to black, but cannot find a way to do this. Is it possible, please, and if so how is it achieved?

Hitting the x-key should set your stroke at black. it works off of your foreground/background color.

As Sly Stone said, there’re different strokes.

Stroking a selection or path will use the Foreground color, but the Stroke in a Layer Style always defaults to red.

Ah, yes. I made the assumption the stroke in question was the Layer Style. There is NO default for Edit>Stroke.

The color can be changed in the layer style Stroke dialog. It will persist if the document is stored and re-opened.
