All tools in CS3 worked fine until there was an automatic update installed about a week or so ago. Since then, upon launch, or sometimes other trigger times, the particular application freezes for about 4:30 minutes taking 100% (of one core) CPU time. This delay time is usually for the application launched, and most of the time acrobatinfo.exe wakes up and executes for 4:30 (on the other Core).
Once this 5 minute delay is over, the tool works fine.
This most frequently happens with the launch of Photoshop, Acrobat (even to just display a PDF), Illustrator, i’ve seen it happen with ID(but not often),
never with DW, never with LightRoom (not a part of CS3 though). Non-Adobe tools run fine.
I have XP Pro SP2, Core2Duo 8600, 4G
Acrobat is at 8.1.0
PS 10.0
I tried deleting printers as another forum post suggested, but no improvement.
Any suggestions?
