I had to abandon a movie about 2 years ago, and now, returning to it, I find that there are numerous *.icg files with file names that were obviously made by me. Unfortunately, I have no recollection of how I made the files, nor what will open them nor what they contain. Their titles tell me that they could be interesting or useful. I have acess to several Adobe and Corel graphics programs, and nothing I’ve tried opens them. Does anyone have some clues that I might be able to use or open the files?
Thanks
JJ

A Google search for "icg files" produces lots of references to something called Inscriber, <http://www.broadcast.harris.com/inscriber/>

Thanks, John, for the response. I found several references to "interactive computer graphics" with a search, but not inscriber. Since I made the files, or my actions with something created them, and I never had any Inscriber program, the source remains a mystery. Oh well, if I could explain all the things that I have seen happen with my computer, I would feel truly enlightened. It will tecah me not abandon projects for so long a time.

What about Adobe Premiere? I don’t have it, but there’s a PDF file that states (in part) that in Premiere, "Title clips are saved in .icg format." To find it, google "icg extension" and click on the interlab-net PDF file.

John:

Thanks for the response. I found the site you are referring to. It deals with Inscriber, something I have never dealt with.

As for Premiere, I have an older version, 6.5, as well as an early Pro version, but neither will open the files. After Effects and Corel Draw open and export just about everything that can be thrown at them, but not icg’s.

It will have to remain one of those deep computer mysteries.
