Everyone I talked to about dds file extensions before I purchased photoshop 7 told me it handled them fine. I can not view or save as for this file format. Is there a plugin I need or something. Please help. Thank you

Never heard of a DDS file. (Unless you’re referring to a dentist.)

Sure they weren’t referring to/confusing it with a DCS file?

DDS Bitmap picture; may be uncompressed or compressed with Adobe Photoshop DXTC Compression plug-in; see DXT
DXT Bitmap picture; Adobe Photoshop DXTC Compression plug–in supporting DDS file format, requires Microsoft DirectX driver version 8.1 or later

Looks like you’ll need a plugin made by nVIDIA.

Right click on a file in Windows Explorer and choose "Open With" and pick the program. Make sure the box is checked to always open with that program.
