Is there a greeting card template in CS2. I have the suite and don’t see it in any of the pgms.

In Corel draw it’s easy…but I just don’t see a simple 4 page folding card template in Adobe.

If you turn all your type upside down and sideways and spend half a day setting up grids…but that’s pretty dumb for a 600 dollar piece of software.

PS is a bitmap editing program, not a page layout one.

I know I mentioned the line below…..
I have the suite and don’t see it in any of the pgms.
…..that would include Adobe Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, GoLive CS2, and Acrobat 7.0 Professional,

Is there a greeting card layout in ANY of these.???

Karl,

I can’t speak for the other apps, but a search on Google shows that GC templates are available for Illustrator at least. (at a price) It isn’t something I have had to get involved with as any GC’s I have had printed in the past had been done by my photo lab, I just provide the front image and homily. etc.,( OK, I’ve used Publisher once or twice) I did say that PS is primarily a bitmap editing program but that isn’t to say it cannot do what you want if it is set up to do so. You mentioned the amount of time that it took you to do this but could this be down to unfamiliarity with PS?
To make a four fold GC, I would open a new document, say A4 in size. Then make sure the rulers are on show (Ctrl+R)
Then click on the rulers to bring up the units list and choose percent. Drag a horizontal and vertical guide out to the 50% settings on the rulers. You now have an A4 document divided into 4 quarters by the guides. Starting from the top left quarter (1) and going around clock wise, you would place an image in the first quarter and use then Edit> Transform (Ctrl+T) tool to flip the image vertically and horizontally. This would also resize the image to fit the quarter if necessary
In quarter 2 you could put some text or another image which again would be transformed (sized and flipped) to make it readable when turned upside down. In quarters 3 and 4 you could put more images or text which would not need flipping as these would be the correct way up when the A4 is folded. This would put the fold at the bottom of the card, if you want it at the top, start in quarter 3 which would be the right way up to start with. Quarters 1 & 2 would need to be flipped to make them readable/viewable when folded
I could have made one in a lot less time than it took to type this out. Don’t forget Ctrl T to flip/resize/transform etc and Ctrl V to move the elements (layers) about to achieve your look.
This is one difference between Coreldraw and PS, CD can have all the elements of the card on one layer, PS will require a new layer for each quarter of the card.
You would create a new layer when you dragged your image(s) into the card document and a type layer would be created each time you selected the type tool.
