I have several JPG files with no extension, is there a way to have Photoshop recognize these without renaming them to .JPG. Picture viewer opens them fine, but not Photoshop. I am using CS and trying to create a contact sheet with students names beneath the picture, but I don’t want the .jpg extension at the end of the name. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

If you’re going to make a statement like that you should be posting the explanation. Even on the Mac, saving files without an extension is really lousy idea.

So, that said, AFAIK, you can’t do anything without adding those extensions.

Okay, I think I see what you’re after. You just want the student name.

I’m pretty sure one of the crack scripters around here could come up with something that would remove the extension from the file name.

Download the 30 trial of Adobe Lightroom.

The "Print" module lets you create customizable contact sheets without the extension showing after the file name.

Dr Brown’s Caption Maker script will do all that you want and more.

I went to his website, but didn’t see the script. Where would I find it?
