Bob:

I am now using the Dell 2407WFP for a week. I have noticed some discoloration around the edges. How does your display appear to you.

When profiling the monitor, what do you set the temp/gamma to for the calibration?

I also have the 2007WFP and cannot seem to get the colors to match anywhere near close to each other.

Sounds like you got a bad panel. One of the hidden values in the Dells is the three year warranty. I had that problem with the 20" and I had a new one the next day.

I haven’t profiled this sucker in a while and just use the EyeOne to handle everything.

Do you have both monitors setup with DVI? Does your video card support two LUTs?

Bob:

I have an ATI FireGL 5200 that supports dual LUTs (despite what tech support said: "We do not support hardware LUTs on any ATI card").

When I profiled the monitor I chose "monitor native" for temp and gamma of 2.2, which would seem correct.

The reason I was asking about the discoloration is that it is on the right side where I have my second monitor. The 2007 appears fine all the way around, but does not appear to calibrate the same way.

Maybe its stupid… (but, what the hell): Have you swapped the monitor places to see what happens?

Ummmm, no!

Good point though, but I thought that there should not be any problem with LCDs being side-by-side unlike CRTs. But then again, I’ll try that.

Gustavo: Nope, still a problem. Was worth a try.

Call Dell. That monitor is defective.
