Hello guys or girls,

My girlfriend birthday is coming up and I would like to make a collage with pictures of us. And then I would like to print them out on a very large poster (I don’t know the size I am going to choose or which is available).

I was going to make all the photos polaroidphotos and then paste them random on "the sheet". (Is this a good idee or just leave out the polaroid-stuff?)
But the background just can’t be white:s But I don’t have a clue which background I have to choose… Could you please give me some advice?:$

BTW: I am pretty much of a noob in photoshop. :$

grtz and thanks,

Sven

But the background just can’t be white

Why not? If you really want something behind the pix, choose a color and fill the background with it. OR take a photo, blow it up to the background size, reduce the opacity and… presto, background image.

thanks for the reply!!

So you can take a white background? I thought i won’t look pretty.. But the color of her room is light blue, so is it a good idea to choose light blue as the background color?

And would the bick picture don’t look blurry, because the resolution of the picture is too small. (The size of the poster is 70×50)

If you plan to do a poster that large using polaroids as the source image, you better make sure you can get the quality you are after. it seems pretty big to me. why not just do a standard poster 20×30? i would not pick the exact shade of blue as the walls ,but thats your choice. maybe black or another darker shade of blue would work. i assume you will be scanning the polaroids to insert them into your project?

No that’s not the idea. I am using pictures that are taking with a digital camera, but I have transformed them with photoshop so they look like a polaroid (with the white edges 😉 )

And if I take a picture ( 35% opacity) and then put a layer of red and white or it and play a little bit with the red layer, so it will have a little glow of red? Because red is the color of love… :p

BTW: if I insert the picture to my project and blow it up to the background size, my picture is a little bit blurry but if I apply the changes, then the picture looks really great! Will it also look great if I print it out? I will be using the same canvas size that I have chosen for my project, so I will not make the poster in photoshop and then enlarge it afterwards…

I really appreciate your help!!

Thank you sooo much!!

Sven
