Filter Problems

Hello,

When applying some of the included filters the color of the document switches to all red and green. I am not sure why this is doing this. I have tried CTRL clicking the default button, but that doesn’t work. Any idea why this is happening? Some of the filters cause this problem, while other filters seem to work fine.

The affected filters are:

Artistic: Colored Pencil; Neon Glow

Distort: Difuse Glow

Sketch: Bas Relief; Chalk & Charcoal; Charcoal; Conte Crayon; Graphic Pen; Halftone Pattern; Note Paper; Photocopy; Plaster; Reticulation; Stamp; Torn Edges

I know for most of these filters they change the photo to primarily black & white. However, in my case they are getting changed to green & red which I know is not intended. I wish I could post an example here, but I am unable to.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? They have worked fine in the past, but now it’s red and green city.

Thanks a ton!

What are your Background and Foreground colors as shown at the bottom of the tools palette?

Yep, that was it. They were in fact red and green. Man I feel ridiculous 🙂 Thanks a ton!

Let me ask you this: when you say "I have tried CTRL clicking the default button" do you mean that little Black and white icon by the Color Picker boxes? Does it NOT turn the colors to the Default B&W? Or were you referring to something else?

Because that should have the same effect as hitting D.

No, I meant the cancel button in the filter gallery box. If you hold down CTRL it changes from cancel to default, and if you hold down ALT it changes from cancel to reset. It changes all the values of the filters back to default, but doesn’t affect the color at all. The little black box does switch the color back to black and white as does hitting the D key.

As soon as you suggested it I felt silly because I just knew that’s what it was 🙂
