Martin Evening made this statement in his "CS3 for Photographers" book: "I am less enthusiastic about Live Filters…"

I can’t find any further mention of Live Filters in the book (which is excellent).

The statement is on page 24, Chapter 1 What’s new in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

I think he may have meantsmart filters, although I don’t know why he would be "less enthusiastic" about them.

You can read about them in Ps Help if you search for "Smart Filters".

I say that because they don’t appear if you search under "filters".

Help is something else they "improved" in this upgrade. 🙁

Who said their left hand doesn’t know what the other left hand is doing?

Thanks…mystery solved…even the official CS3 user guide didn’t mention Live Filters. 🙂

This forum is a life saver and reduces most of the learning curve agony.

From what I can gather "Live Filters" are found in one of Adobe’s other apps (Fireworks I think) so it sounds like a copy writer has mixed up Live Filters with "Smart Filters"

Martin Evening too by the looks of it!

To add to the confusion, Adobe mentions "live filters" in the Photoshop product features matrix here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/index.html

I’m probably wrong but perhaps Live Filters/live filters was the pre-shipping (beta) terminology and they ended up being called Smart Filters when the marketing dept named them and Photoshop shipped?
