Hello,

I have started a Petition to try and get Corel Corporation to update, create a new interface and release ALL of the Kai’s PowerTools plug-ins in one package and at an affordable price. I have been waiting and hoping that Corel would do something with these plug-ins and nothing has happened. I am hoping that this petition will get them going.

If you would like to see Kai’s PowerTools updated (including the 3.0 plug-ins) please sign the petition. It is at:

Thanks,

Robert

I think you’ll have a great deal more success sending them money, but what the heck, good luck.

Money never hurts, but I think Corel needs to know that there are people (enough of them too) that will buy it. If you go to Corel’s site now you will have to look long and hard to find anything on KPT it isn’t listed in with the rest of their products and even then there is no mention of the older KPT pacakges. So I think a petition is probably the best place to start.

Please pass the word. We can do this!

As Steve said elsewhere, it’d be nice if Corel bought FreeHand!

It must be going cheap!

Robert:

As far as KPT goes, what more do you want from it, the KPT collection seems to have everything I ‘might’ need. They work just fine with PSCS2 and Painter 9.5. Are you saying they do not work at all with the latest versions you posted.

Don’t know which version you have but the interface is constant throughout in the KPT Collection that I own.

John:

Why would Corel buy Freehand? It has nothing to offer them over CorelDraw, I’ve used both, CD is way better on any given day.

CD is way better on any given day.

Matter of opinion. I’ve used both but ditched CD for FH.

So to save the program orphaned by Adobe, you will make it an orphan of Corel? Better to get the program sold to a company that doesn’t have a decent drawing program.

There’s a little company up in Seattle … what’s it called … oh yeah, Microsoft. Get them to buy it (if you can get past the not invented here syndrome).

Don: Maybe they should sell FH to Quark. That would be a good fit. THH.

John: Vice-versa.

Apparently you have very little experience with the older plug-ins. The companies that have had the KPT properties over the years have released new packages but they have had new plug-ins. The plug-ins that came before have never been updated or rereleased especially the 3.0 plug-ins.

The last thing Adobe wants is for someone to revive the program that trumped Illustrator at nearly every turn for a number of years. And before that statement invites a rant from some Illy aficionados, just relax and count to ten.

Or count your selection tools… that should get you to ten, give or take.

Well I just installed KPT3 in PSCS2 on XPproSP2 for a lark, works like a charm. So, if they never get around to updating, I’ll be just fine.
