I have an image in RGB mode that I am trying to apply a filter to. The problem is that after I use the filter (I tried both blur and sharpen), the fade option in hte edit menu is still grayed out. I use this feature all the time (usually after sharpening), so why would it not be working now? What am I missing here? Does it matter that the layer I’m trying to use it on has an alpha mask? If so, why?

The only thing that I can think of is that if you do, basically ANYTHING else after you run the filter, fade gets grayed out. Are you performing Fade immediately after running the filter? I mean, no keystrokes, mouse clicks nothing?

YrbkMgr: Yes.

I tested my original hunch and it did indeed work when I removed the layer mask. Why would it not work with the mask in place? That doesn’t make any sense to me at all.
