Greetings.
I’ve embarked on the arduous task of scanning old colour slides to HDD. I wonder what the feeling is about scanner settings, as I’ve read that It’s better to do everything in PS, to complicate things the colour and a lot of detail is changed or gone, I did try scanning with and without auto exposure and found not much difference in the result after fiddling in PS.
Does anyone have an easy way to fix colour casts, Levels together with colour balance seem to do as good a job as shadow/highlight tool and curves, not worth spending much time on each as the slides are in a very poor state, – still, they ARE memories.
Using an Epson 1650 scanner and Twain 5 driver.
Regards
Malcolm

If they’re all in pretty much the same state, you could scan them all into a folder, then create an action to correct all the pix and run it against the folder to enhance them. Would be a great time saver and still preserve the memories.

Thanks Tom.
Unfortunately various films seem to give different rates of decay and odd casts,so, I think I’ll just have to bite the bullet and persevere. Cheers
