Hello, I am trying to change the text of PSD buttons i have in the source of a template. I changed the text but the button size is too small since the new typed text is longer than the original one. I could only enlarge the slice size but still the text I typed is not seen in full, as well as the color that fills the button keeps its dimensions. As result I can only see a the original button (same size) but with half of the text i typed.

Could any one please guide me to resolve this?

Nobody can help you without knowledge of the template – there are thousands out there!

I’m not busting on you personally, Jack, but your situation is another example of something we see here a lot, that is:

People get Photoshop, and think that just because they have some killer software that things should be easy. As you can see, even when you have a template, you’ve got a humongous field spread out before you to plow. It really helps to take the time, and make the effort to learn the application from the ground up, starting with the very basic of basics.

People come in and ask questions about how to do specific things, but before any instructions can be given, it’s incumbent upon us regulars to extract from the new user information about how much they already know, whether they’re familiar with certain basics and terminology, and what they’ve already tried to do in order to complete their desired series of tasks.

Yes, Photoshop is a killer hunk of software, but we all can only get out of it what we are willing to put into it.

Jack,

You might try a more narrow font. If your text is still too wide, you might try selecting it, then compressing it sideways with the transform tool.

Another tip is to use a shorter word. For a city page, you could use "Eats" instead of the longer "Restaurants".

Yet another tip is to reduce the letter (and word, if more than one word) spacing from the Character palette

I would get a better template or, better still, try and do it myself. You will learn a lot in the process!
