I have Photoshop CS3 but I needed and downloaded CS3 Extended upgrade. I followed the installation instructions and it declares victory but when I run Photoshop it is still just plain old CS3. Any ideas what could be wrong? It is as though the installer thinks it is only being asked to repair the existing installation and not to upgrade it.

You need a different serial number for the extended version, and you didn’t say whether you de-activated and un-installed CS3 first.

How are you running it? If through a link, that link will probably still be attached to the old version.

Like John said, you need to expunge the old version first. I installed CS3 yesterday, and it claimed that it didn’t need to install Flash, as it was still there. Unfortunately, that was a trial that had expired, and refused my CS3 serial number. I had to uninstall it, and then install the suite again (the Flash part, that is).

Thanks very much! I just expected the upgrade to upgrade the existing install, I didn’t deactivate nor uninstall the original. I never needed a new number, it didn’t ask for one. I will deactivate and uninstall.
