I have text written in Microsoft word and want to copy/paste it into a .psd layer. I can do this, but the lines are extremely long. Of course, my .doc is 8.5" x 11" and my .psd is 7.639" X 8.333" or 550 X 600 pixels. Is there a way of doing this to make my clipboard contents fit into my .psd layer within its dimensions?

thanks!

Use the Text tool to drag out a box, and paste your text in that. This will cause it to be ‘Paragraph Text’, rather than ‘Point Text’. You can resize this box and change your text flow by clicking on it with the Text tool, and dragging the sides and corners as you would with a Free Transform.

If you already have a line of text as Point Text, you can convert it to Paragraph Textvia right-clicking on it in the Layers palette, and choosing "Convert to Paragraph Text". Note that this will not change the dimensions of the text; you will have to resize the text box by dragging it with the Text tool.

Hello,
Just use the "paragraph" text mode.

– Activate the Type Tool
– Drag over your document to define paragraph boundaries – Paste the copied text
