changing brush sizes using the keyboard

I am using Photoshop CS2 and whenever I use the brush tool and then try to change its size using the "+" and "-" keys, they don’t work any more. Is there an option for this?

try "[" and "]"

It’s the ‘[‘ and ‘]’ keys.
