PS crashes when I have copied and pasted a layer and manipulate that object by positioning, or resizing.

Crashes when selecting and copying within a layer.
Crashes when pasting from another image.

It’s not even sporadic – happens EVERY time I paste at least two selections or when positining a pasted selection.

I cleared out the TEMP file to no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks

First step is to download and install the 9.0.2 update.

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.

A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

I physically removed the file – when PS loaded afterwards it clearly had been stripped of my preferences including doing away with the pop-up ‘what do you want to do’ window.

I’m leaning toward some funky hardware/software issue – might have to take this to level 3 support… but who has the time??!!

I love PS, so hopefully this will be a short bump in the road.

A little more info that might provide some insight into my experience.

I’ve determined that PhotoShop runs great so long as I am not also logged in on Citrix MetaFrame which I use to dial into the office/email/etc… I run PS locally, but somehow Citrix must tie up resources in such a way that PS poops – quite possibly because Citrix allows a copy/paste between local and the Citrix environment which may buffer out or something. I’m going to keep playing around with that thought to see if I can isolate this behavior further and/or test out various settings within Citrix that will allow my use of PhotoShop while still maintaining contact with the office.

Thanks for the suggestsions and help today.
