Bob
Then reset the prefs as detailed in the FAQs.
Come back and let us know how it goes.
erk… no luck – still occuring
I upgraded to 9.0.2 and reset the prefs
Adobe Photoshop Version: 9.0.2 (9.0.2×296)
Effectively warrants PS useless ;(
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.
I physically removed the file – when PS loaded afterwards it clearly had been stripped of my preferences including doing away with the pop-up ‘what do you want to do’ window.
I’m leaning toward some funky hardware/software issue – might have to take this to level 3 support… but who has the time??!!
I love PS, so hopefully this will be a short bump in the road.
A little more info that might provide some insight into my experience.
I’ve determined that PhotoShop runs great so long as I am not also logged in on Citrix MetaFrame which I use to dial into the office/email/etc… I run PS locally, but somehow Citrix must tie up resources in such a way that PS poops – quite possibly because Citrix allows a copy/paste between local and the Citrix environment which may buffer out or something. I’m going to keep playing around with that thought to see if I can isolate this behavior further and/or test out various settings within Citrix that will allow my use of PhotoShop while still maintaining contact with the office.
Thanks for the suggestsions and help today.
