Help please, I have been trying to update my version 5.0.1 to work with vista & have downloaded the patch but it will not update /Error message states "Adobe Photoshop Elements is installed on your machine already updated to ver. 5.0.2 setup will be aborted". I have tried uninstalling & re-installing but I end up with same error message, i.e. this version of Photoshop Elements is not compatible with Windows Vista, it then tells me to update by downloading patch I have already downloaded.

My computer is a Sony VGC-LA2 with a Windows Vista Platform & the Photoshop Software was pre-installed

Dear John,
Did have the same experience. After deinstalling I used Registryfix to (as it seams) to remove parts out of my registry. Perhaps it is needed that all of Adobe has to be removed before installing again… .
